System improvements, upgrades and projects

We are continuously working to maintain and improve the water system.  Some of the major projects we are currently working on involve the installation of new, or the replacement of existing, equipment and facilities needed to provide safe, reliable water service.

New Canaan Road - Route 106 Update

Starting the week of April 27, 2026, weather permitting, Aquarion will be working on New Canaan Road (Rte. 106) between Belden Hill Road and Old Boston Road. It is anticipated that work in this area will take approximately 2 weeks.

The roadway will be closed to traffic between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please follow the detour route shown on the attached sheet. The detour route consists of Belden Hill Road to Sier Hill Road and Old Boston Road.

For residents living within the project area, please coordinate with traffic control for access to your property.

All bus stops will remain at their current locations. Emergency vehicles will be granted immediate access through the work area.

Also note, Aquarion and the State of Connecticut DOT are coordinating to conduct roadway paving excavation work starting in June to repave New Canaan Road from Old Boston to New Canaan town line (paving to continue into New Canaan). Additional information to follow.
