One-day water main cleaning project scheduled for June 26
New Hartford, Conn. – June 20, 2024 – Aquarion Water Company today announced a water main cleaning project in its New Hartford system. The project, scheduled for June 26, will ensure customers in New Hartford continue to receive the highest quality water.
The cleaning schedule for June 26 will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the following streets:
Black Bridge Rd, Brook St, Church St, Church St North, Cottage St, Fox Run Ln, Greenwoods Rd, High St, Highland Ave, Holcomb Hill Rd, JohnnyCake Ln, Loomis Heights, Main St, Prospect St, Reservoir Rd, Ten St, Town Hill Rd, and Wickett St.
During the system flushing, customers may notice temporary low pressure or discoloration in their water. This discoloration results from the temporary disturbance of the water flow, which stirs up naturally occurring minerals that settle in water mains.
Aquarion recommends that customers store water in their refrigerators for drinking and cooking. If the water is discolored, customers should refrain from washing laundry. Before resuming use, customers should run their cold-water faucets until the water appears clear.
Customers can visit www.aquarionwater.com/alerts to sign up for automated alerts and to get the latest information on the project. Customers with questions should contact Aquarion’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-732-9678 or cs@aquarionwater.com.
