Water Infrastructure Work to Begin in Ridgefield

Oct 30, 2023 by Peter Fazekas Connecticut

Construction of water pressure reducing facility and water main projects to begin November 6

RIDGEFIELD, CONN. – October 30, 2023 – Aquarion Water Company is performing essential work on water infrastructure in Ridgefield necessary to ensure continued system reliability and the highest quality water.

On November 6, 2023, construction is scheduled to start on a pressure reducing facility located at the intersection of Barlow Mountain Road and North Street in Ridgefield. The construction of this new facility combined with a water main extension will connect Aquarion’s Ridgefield and Craigmoor Systems, improving both the overall volume and quality of water available to customers in the Craigmoor System.  Customers should not experience any change in their water pressure as a result of these projects.  The projects are expected to be fully operational by spring 2024.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as we complete these important projects,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning.  “We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction.”

Due to construction, drivers may experience minor traffic delays and possible detours during normal working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Shelton-based John J. Brennan Construction will be serving as the general contractor for the pressure reducing facility project.  Norwalk-based M. Rondano, Inc. will construct the water main extension.
