Pressure reducing facility replacement project scheduled to start May 24, 2022

FAIRFIELD, CONN. – May 23, 2022 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Fairfield necessary to ensure continued system reliability.

On May 24, 2022,  a pressure reducing facility replacement project is scheduled to begin at the intersection of Stratfield Road and Suburban Avenue in Fairfield.  The project is designed to help maintain system pressure and fire flow capacity in the greater Bridgeport area.  This infrastructure upgrade is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water and service.  The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning.  “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”

Due to construction, residences and businesses should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during normal working hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.   Stratford-based Butterworth and Scheck will be serving as the general contractor for the project.
