Water Tank Rehabilitation Project Scheduled to Start the Week of September 21, 2026
PLAINVILLE, Conn. – September 21, 2026 – Aquarion Water Authority continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Plainville, which is necessary to ensure continued system reliability and water quality.On the week of September 21, Aquarion will begin construction at its Maria Road water storage tank located at 61 Maria Road. The work includes draining the tank, removing existing paint, making structural repairs as needed, and applying new coats of paint. The project is expected to be completed by January 2027.
“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as we complete this important project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Project Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction.”
Working hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Boston, Massachusetts based Amex Inc. will serve as the general contractor for the tank rehabilitation project, which is expected to have little to no impact on traffic in the area.
