Water Infrastructure Work to Begin in Danbury

Interconnection and Booster Station Modifications Projects Scheduled to Start July 6, 2026

Danbury, Conn. – June 24, 2026 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Danbury, which is necessary to ensure continued system reliability and water quality.

On July 6, Aquarion will begin work on a water main extension along Forty Acre Mountain Road, Stadley Rough Road, and Indian Spring Road. The extension will connect Aquarion’s New Milford Regional System to the Indian Spring System in Danbury. Additional minor infrastructure work will occur at Aquarion’s Indian Spring Station, located at 22 Corn Tassle Road. The project is intended to ensure that drinking water in the Indian Springs System complies with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for PFAS, which was announced on April 10, 2024. The project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2026.

The project, which will extend approximately 3,500 feet of water main, is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and ensure the highest-quality water. Final paving will then be scheduled in coordination with the City of Danbury.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as we complete these important projects,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Project Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction.”

Due to construction, residences and businesses may experience minor traffic delays during working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Norwalk-based AJ Penna Construction, Inc. will serve as the general contractor for the projects.
