Water Infrastructure Work to Begin in Ridgefield

Pressure-reducing facility replacement project scheduled to start January 5, 2026

Ridgefield, CONN. – December 15, 2025 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Ridgefield necessary to ensure continued system reliability.

On January 5, 2026, construction is scheduled to begin on a project to replace an underground pressure-reducing facility at the intersection of Tanton Hill Road and Danbury Road in Ridgefield. The project is designed to maintain water main pressure and fire flow capacity in the central Ridgefield area. This infrastructure upgrade is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water and service. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2026.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Project Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”

Due to construction, residences and businesses may experience minor traffic delays during normal working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. along Danbury Road, Route 35. Seymour-based Griffin Brothers Excavation, LLC, will serve as the general contractor for the project.
