Essential Water Infrastructure Work Continues in Marlborough

Water main extension project scheduled to begin October 1, 2021

MARLBOROUGH, CONN. – September 20, 2021 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on infrastructure necessary to ensure continued system reliability.  A water main extension project is scheduled to begin October 1 on North Main Street in Marlborough.  The project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2021.

The project, which will install approximately 2,800 feet of water main, is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water.  The project is designed to improve water quality for customers while increasing the capacity and reliability of Aquarion’s distribution system.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Daniel Lawrence, Aquarion’s Vice President of Engineering and Real Estate.  “We will work closely with residents, businesses, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”

Due to construction, residences and businesses should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during the working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Plainville-based D&G Contractors, Inc. will be serving as the contractor for the water main extension project.

To keep customers informed about scheduled/unscheduled work, Aquarion utilizes an Everbridge notification system to call affected customers. Aquarion encourages customers to sign up for this free service at www.aquarionwater.com/alerts.
