Aquarion Completes Acquisition of Interlaken Water Company in New Fairfield

Now officially serving nearly 1,700 customers in New Fairfield, Connecticut

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. – September 3, 2019 – Aquarion Water Company today announced the acquisition of the Interlaken Water Company in New Fairfield, Connecticut. The acquisition of the system, which provides water to approximately 60 New Fairfield residents, brings the total number of residents in town served by Aquarion to nearly 1,700.

“Aquarion is pleased to have the opportunity to provide even more New Fairfield residents with safe, clean water,” said Charles V. Firlotte, Aquarion’s President and CEO.

In addition to the acquisition of the Interlaken Water Company, Aquarion is in the process of acquiring the town of New Fairfield’s municipal water system. The acquisition of the town’s municipal system was announced in late 2018 and is currently under review by the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA).

“Aquarion’s acquisitions in New Fairfield will allow us to leverage our extensive experience to maintain these water systems, make smart investments in infrastructure, and ensure that residents and businesses can count on high-quality water for decades to come,” said Firlotte.
