Interlaken Well No. 2 Facility Activation Project Scheduled to Start May 12, 2025

New Fairfield, CONN. – April 29, 2025 – Aquarion Water Company is performing essential work on water infrastructure in New Fairfield necessary to ensure continued system reliability. On May 12, 2025, Aquarion’s contractor is scheduled to begin construction to connect the newly drilled, tested, and permitted Well No. 2 to the Interlaken Distribution System.  Activating this new well source will add redundancy and reliability to this system, which is currently only served by one well. The project, located at 19 Knollcrest Road, includes constructing a small building that will contain power and control equipment, water piping, and additional space for future water treatment.  Aquarion anticipates that the project will be completed in August 2025.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as we complete this important project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Project Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction.”

Normal construction working hours will be between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Portland-based Snyder Civil Construction will serve as the project's general contractor.
