Tank chlorine boosting project scheduled to start May 5, 2025

New Canaan, CONN. – April 22, 2025 – Aquarion Water Company is performing essential work on water infrastructure in New Canaan necessary to ensure continued system reliability and water quality.

On May 5, 2025, Aquarion’s contractor is scheduled to begin constructing a tank chlorine boosting facility adjacent to the company’s existing water tank at 671 South Avenue (Waveny Park). A new, small, stand-alone building will contain chlorination treatment equipment. The project is expected to be completed by December 2025.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as we complete this important project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Project Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction.”

Normal construction working hours will be between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. East Haven-based Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. will serve as the treatment project's general contractor.
