Transition timeline

To help you prepare for this transition we have outlined some key dates and important information about the transition to Aquarion ownership.

Sale closing date

Aquarion completed the acquisition of the City of Ansonia's wastewater system on December 3, 2024. Aquarion now serves as the wastewater service provider for all residents and businesses in Ansonia.

Bills from the City of Ansonia (for period prior to December 3, 2024)

Please be advised that any outstanding payments for wastewater services provided by the City of Ansonia prior to December 3, 2024, must be made directly to the City of Ansonia. Aquarion is unable to process these payments on your behalf.

First bill from Aquarion Water Company

Your first Aquarion bill will be sent on or around January 27, 2025 and will reflect charges for approximately two months of service for the period beginning December 3, 2024; thereafter, you will be billed monthly. Once your first Aquarion invoice arrives, payment is due upon receipt of the bill date and late fees accrue after 30 days.

Your wastewater service will remain the same, with all operations continuing to be based in Ansonia, Connecticut.
Yes, as part of the acquisition, we have received all your account information, billing history, and contact details from the City of Ansonia.

Yes, your billing will now be monthly. Each invoice will include both a service charge and a usage charge. Once the transition to Aquarion is complete, you will receive a welcome letter detailing how these charges are calculated.

As of February 1, 2025, you will have several convenient payment options available including:

  • Aquarion Mobile App
  • Online portal (pay directly from your bank account)
  • One-time payments - Online or by phone via credit card or check - available 24 hours/7 day a week
  • Traditional mail-in payments via USPS to the Company’s lockbox
  • Walk-in Payment Locations

When you receive your first bill, it will include your account number. With this information, you’ll be able to set up online billing through our website at aquarionwater.com/pay.
Aquarion does not offer this option. However, bill payments are accepted at several walk-in payment locations. For more details, visit aquarionwater.com/pay.
