We are continuously working to maintain and improve the water system. Some of the major projects we are currently working on involve the installation of new, or the replacement of existing, equipment and facilities needed to provide safe, reliable water service.
UPDATE 9/1/23: The Woodford Avenue Water Treatment Plant Improvements (Softening) is entering the final stages of construction and testing. The final electrical and controls will be completed in September 2023 with start-up and testing scheduled for September and early October 2023. We appreciate your patience as we get ready to put this project in service.
UPDATE 7/28/23: The project completion date has been extended due to vendor and construction delays. Our new target completion date is the end of August 2023. We thank you for your patience.
The construction of a water softening plant at the Woodford Avenue well field is beginning. The project includes the construction of a new building and water softening system, a sewer line, and replace the existing main from the plant site to Woodford Avenue.
The project includes the construction of a new building and water softening system, 40-ton salt silo, and construction of an approximate 1,500-foot sewer line for connection to the Town system. In addition to the softening project, Aquarion has decided to replace the aging 1,500-foot water transmission main from the plant site to Woodford Avenue. The plant is expected to be completed in July of 2023.
