We are continuously working to maintain and improve the water system.  Some of the major projects we are currently working on involve the installation of new, or the replacement of existing, equipment and facilities needed to provide safe, reliable water service.

Little River Water Treatment Plant - Hampton

Project Goals and Objective

Upgrade the water treatment facility for Wells 7 and 22 to provide water treatment for the increased production volume and to install arsenic removal.

Scope of Work

Construction of a new treatment building for chemical storage and treatment equipment (bulk storage tanks, arsenic removal filters, chemical feed pumps and piping, and control systems). The new facility will improve the control and efficiency of treatment processes, and improve chemical handling and safety. The project will also improve reliability by upgrading the electrical system and installing a new backup power generator.

Current Status

  • The design is nearly complete
  • A special exception for construction of a utility facility in a residential zone was approved by the Hampton Zoning Board of Adjustment on July 16
  • The project site plan is expected to go before the Hampton Planning Board on October 7
  • After Planning Board approval, the project will be put out to bid
