System improvements, upgrades and projects

We are continuously working to maintain and improve the water system.  Some of the major projects we are currently working on involve the installation of new, or the replacement of existing, equipment and facilities needed to provide safe, reliable water service.

Little River Water Treatment Plant

Jan 21, 2020 New Hampshire

Project Goals and Objective

Upgrade chemical treatment facilities at Well 7 to handle the increased production volume from Well 22.

Scope of Work

Construction of a new treatment building to house all of the chemical treatment equipment, including bulk storage tanks, chemical feed pumps and piping.  This will provide improved chemical handling safety for staff, and improved controls and efficiency of chemical feed processes. The project will also improve reliability by upgrading the electrical system and installing a new backup power generator.

This project involves constructing a new building and chemical feed systems for the combined flow from Wells 7 and 22. The current chemical feed system at Well 7 is too small to handle both wells, and the new facility will allow for improved chemical safety and more efficient chemical treatment.

Construction will start after a withdrawal permit is received for Well 22, expected in the third quarter of 2019.  The plant is expected to be in service in 2020.

Current Status

Project design is on hold pending the withdrawal permit for Well 22.
