Water Treatment Plant Operations Internship

Hours/Week: Maximum 40 hours/week, 1000 hours/year. Days and hours are flexible.
Pay: $15/hour

  • Shelton/Easton/Stamford
  • Falls Village/Simsbury/New Milford /Northwestern CT
  • Stamford / Greenwich
  • Mystic

JOB DESCRIPTION

Interns will be exposed to a variety of water sources, water treatment facilities, processes, technologies, operations and maintenance, construction, and project management in order to apply classroom learning and gain hands-on experience. The intern’s major, interests, and needs will be taken into consideration for the type and focus of work. Aquarion staff will work closely together with the intern, serving as role models and mentors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled full-time student in an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university program for Water Treatment, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related STEM majors (Minimum GPA of 2.5).
  • Or US Military Veterans with an interest in drinking water treatment operations.
  • Or CT Certified Operator-In-Training OIT (Water Treatment or Water Distribution).
  • Or an interest in a career in Water Treatment Operations, Water Treatment Maintenance, or Water Utility Management.
  • Can provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
